The idea of this foundation came from a woman, who is private pilot. She noticed the following facts :
- Despite an active aeronautic industry, there is limited information available about the career opportunities in aeronautical sectors in Switzerland (for example: school orientation offices). High school level formations in the aeronautical domaines are almost non existent (no academic achievement).
- Only few women work in aeronautical sectors.
- After joining “Women in Aviation (WAI)” and attending one of their international conference, a strong solidarity between women has been noticed, and also a huge panel of career opportunities in many different aeronautical sectors. It underlined the utility of a good inter-professional and international network.
The project of association started the year of the aviation century in Switzerland. It was a beautiful way to celebrate this anniversary, and to honor women and men who wrote each page of aviation history.
